Why choose Teen Primary Care?
Teen Primary Care makes getting care for your teen easy and convenient. In addition to your teen’s in-person provider, you can take advantage of flexible scheduling with easy virtual visits, providing high-quality care that meets you and your teen where you are. Your teen will see one of our board-certified primary care providers who are trained in family medicine. You can pick the care provider who works best for your family, schedule visits easily, and even get referrals to specialists in your area if needed. With Teladoc Health Primary Care, your teen will leave the visit with recommendations that fit their needs. This can even mean referrals or coordination with existing in-person care providers for annual checkups or sports physicals.
What happens during a visit?
Visits are virtual, require a parent or guardian, and usually last up to 20 minutes. You can address ongoing health issues, like asthma or sleep problems, as well as one-time health needs like a cough or rash. If your teen needs medication, we may provide a prescription.
While Teen Primary Care can be a great resource, our care providers cannot do the following:
- Annual wellness exams or physicals
- School or camp forms
- Prescriptions for controlled substances (see our prescription policy for more information)
How to schedule a visit
To schedule a Primary Care visit for your teen, just follow these steps:
- Select your teen’s name when scheduling a Primary Care visit from your account.
- Choose from our board-certified family medicine care providers.
- Schedule a phone or video visit from 7 AM to 6 PM local time on weekdays or 7 AM to 12 PM local time on Saturdays.
- You and your teen will join the visit at the scheduled time.
A parent or guardian must be present during the visit.
If your teen has another parent or guardian who needs to agree to medical care (for example, for shared custody or joint decision-making), we’ll email them with written consent to sign.
