How do I schedule a Mental Health therapy visit?

Teladoc Health offers virtual counseling from psychologists and therapists. You can choose a therapist, psychologist or psychiatrist who fits your needs and schedule visits 7 days a week from wherever you’re most comfortable. If you have coverage for therapy, you can schedule a visit at any time with the following steps.

How to schedule a visit:

  1. Log in to your account, either via a web browser or the mobile app.
  2. On your home page, look for a card that says either “Mental Health” or “Talk with a therapist.”

What to do if you don’t see a “Mental Health” or “Talk to a therapist” card on the home page:

  1. Look for either “Programs” or “Connect” in the navigation bar.
  2. Select options for either “Mental Health” or “Teletherapy.”

How to schedule a time to meet with a therapist of your choosing:

  1. Select “Request a visit.”
  2. Select who the visit is for.
  3. Select the country and state you’ll be in for your visit.
  4. Confirm your emergency contact information.
  5. Next, share the reason for your visit and whether or not you’re looking for medication support. You can also add your preferred visit time.
    1. You can adjust your search filter to include other “Reason for your visit” options at any time.
  6. Select a provider. Each provider has a “View profile” link where you can get to know them and select the best one for you. Next, select a visit time that works for you or request a different time from the provider. Then select “Request a visit.”
  7. After you request a visit, select when and how you would like to connect (you can choose either phone or video).
  8. Confirm other forms of contact in case you and your provider are unable to connect through your preferred method.
  9. Choose or confirm your preferred pharmacy for any prescriptions in case you have prescriptions ordered after your visit.
  10. Review your visit details, submit and confirm.


You can view your upcoming visit on your home page.
