What is this visit, exactly?
A real conversation with a licensed therapist or board-certified psychiatrist, by phone or video, from wherever feels comfortable to you. No office, no waiting room, no pressure.
When should I have a visit?
Anytime something feels off. Stressed, anxious, sad, or just not like yourself, that's reason enough to reach out. You don't need a diagnosis or a specific problem in mind to get started.
What happens during the visit?
Your provider will talk with you, listen, and ask questions. That's it. Just an honest conversation at whatever pace feels right for you.
Can I see the same person every time?
Yes, and we encourage it. You can return to the same therapist or psychiatrist as many times as you want. And if it's not quite the right fit, that's okay too. We have plenty of other great providers ready to meet you where you are.
Can my provider prescribe medication?
Psychiatrists can, therapists cannot. If medication comes up, your psychiatrist will walk you through what's available and right for you.
What happens after my visit?
Your provider will send a visit summary to your secure message center. If a follow-up is needed, it gets scheduled there too.
What will this cost me?
It depends on your health plan. With insurance, therapy visits may be available at no cost. You can check your exact costs anytime in the Teladoc Health app before you book.
